We'll be getting married in less than 19 days! Time flies so fast... i still remember clearly the time when Meow proposed, it's still so fresh in my mind... and 22/11/08 seems soo far away but right now! in less than 2 weeks, we'll be exchanging our vows at the altar! WOW!

We're still tying up some loose ends - here and there.... and the main decor for the church and reception are still to be discussed on! maybe tomorrow, we'll have a discussion......!! MOM!

Meow is currently busy with his project, we hardly have time to discuss about the wedding... and I on the other hand - still have 2 events on two consecutive weekends and 3 more weddings (even on my own wedding day! *gulp but thankfully, i've got Bernyce to follow up for me! hehe! God bless her! haha!)

we're very thankful to have Yoonie & Stan to sponsor us the beautiful invitations. our budget could have blown if not for their help!..... and I think Yoonie might use some help *hint *hint to deco the backdrop, signage, folding of church program, corsages, car deco, favors, cake decorating......

and well... about our feelings on the wedding?... I'm trying to savour each day as it pass and trying to foresee what the future may bring...... Our lil condo will be ready by April or June '09..... so at the mean time, we'll be staying at Meow's place.... yes, i'll have to wake up at 7am and take train back to my house! haha!!! no more waking up at 8:30am!....

as a new beginning unfolds, i guess many changes will take place especially in this first few months of adjustment..... *pause hopefully things will be looking good :)

Wedding Invitations

Finally the invitations are out!!! I'm soooo happy with the result! The colours and designs are simply.... breath-taking!!! I'm soo relieved that the invitations are completed just a month before the BIG DAY and now..... we're pressed for time as we have to sort out the cards and start mailing them out ASAP!!!!!!! :)

THANK YOU YOONIE & STAN for these gorgeous invitations!!!! You're da BEST!!!!

Look out, we'll be calling you out for a yam cha session to pass you one of these beauties :P

Late night set-up during event set-up were filled with ribboning of each invitations!!! Indeed this is a Labour Of LOVE :)

Wedding Favor - KAYA!

KAYA! May all our guests be prosperous! hehehhehehe!!!..... Kaya means RICH! That's my direct translation from Malay to English.....

Actually the idea came about in line with our colour theme - plum and bronze, a kaya bottle with plum ribbon sounds so authentic and never-been-done before! Let's do away with all the norms.... e.g. candles/ chocolates/ fruit cakes...........

I tell you this decision is not an easy task!....Lotsa hard works are required!!! Time, patience, heat, cooling down, packaging!!!.... Though there were abit of objections here and there because of the tedious work involved!... Ah!.... my stubborness got the better of it.... and of coz with Unca Meow's support!!!.......hehheheh!!

Food Tasting

Today 22/9 would be 2 months away from our wedding...

Anyway, we had our food tasting last nite, the food was a mixture of good and..... interesting.... I enjoyed mostly on the fellowship of both families over dinner :)

Make-up Artist

Here are some of the looks that's so smashing! :P

Finally, I've found my make-up artist! And he's a hairstylist also! What a bonus! I had a hair cut as well when i went for the trial........

My first two trials with the other 2 went quite bizarre.... the first one had me hopping after when i removed the make-up to find out she has shaved most of my what-already-so-little hair eye brow! You can imagine i went berserk!...

The 2nd one...... sigh... nearly had me go blind!.. Not only she did not do what i requested but she was also practically shoving the brush into my eyes... OUCH!! (and i was quiet throughout the ordeal, don't ask me why!) boy! after the make-up, i looked more like a red eye monster... and she was telling me that it was because of my lenses and allergic to this and that.............wt.... faint.....

The 3rd one... was highly recommended by Meow's mom, as she has tried him for her annual dinner event. So Meow and i went, and was just convenient that he was a hair stylist... so i had my hair trimmed as well! And I'm very pleased with the result!

Before the trial begin, I was very specific with him with what i want and i shared with him my previous experiece with both the artists (so that he would be.....cautious?.. hehehhe)

And yes, he did what i want... but his charges was abit.... so Meow managed to neg/ persuade him and Ta dah! Deal closed. Paid him a deposit, and looking forward to look prety on that day!

What a small world to find out that he's one of my cuz-cum-bridesmaid's friend! :)

Jewellery & Blings

I'm crazy over ribbons, blings and all that glitz...

But it's so sad to find out that Vera Wang has discontinued her Fine Jewellery Line, if not i could happily have a piece for my wedding, so looks like i gotta customize it then :P

And this is my favorite piece!... Too bad i don't wear earrings..... but i can have this as my pendent!

This is one beautiful bow for a headpiece! And not forgetting the bow inspired ring!

The Wedding Gown Hunt 1

Pronovias & Ellie Saab are now officially my favorite wedding gown designers, you can imagine what joy filled me when i found out from Female Brides magazine that there's a one-month old boutique in KL carrying their range!! Mind you, the designs and cuttings of these beautiful dresses are a far cry from the local bridal scenes!

Situated opposite Beryl's chocolate factory, Jln Kamuning, is this quaint little bungalow, luxurily furnished up, like a mini Sri Carcosa KL :) I love their toilet, so english! :P

Every gown looks as good as advertised in the web site... so altogether i tried almost 10 gowns or so... hehehheheheh :P

and finally, the price, yes, Ellie Saab's dress is the most gorgeous one but going at RM 32,000.... faint, and that's without the veil yet!.... but similar to that is a pronovias gown going at RM 12,000... almost affordable, but i'll blow the entire budget.... sigh... but then again no harm in dreaming :P

This dress is designed by Ellie Saab and it's RM 32,000++....

I may consider buying this..... but at RM 12,000??! hmn..... :P

anyways, i did enjoy the little trying here and there, and here are the pics :) The changing room experience is almost priceless, complete with a pair of high heels, hand bouquet and veil...

I tried this gown, but i looked as if i'm from Adam's family :P This gown is about RM 32,000 ++

We have planned to do this photo shoot with Daniel & Shevon, however when they're on the way to Bukit Jalil, it's already drizzling.... But Melvin and I managed to capture some pictures...

Me in my favourite korean inspired dress and unca meow in his formal wear. Bkt Jalil has nice structure up the hill, gotta climb up abit, and the humid weather doesn't help at all, but overall we're quite happy we came.. :)

This 2nd photo shoot is a priceless experience as we have Nigel and Stephanie as our main highlight... together with the backstage ppl who make this photo shoot happen - both Meow's parents - Unca William and Aunty Jenny, I'm truly blessed to have such a sporting and supportive future in laws, and really warm our hearts and made this shoot a very very special one for us!.. Thank you!

Marriage Counselling

Yes, we've done our marriage counselling last year, way before the proposal, and it was good. Highly recommended! :)

Bro. Kien Meng was our counsellor, we looked forward to the sessions held every once a week for 2 and a half months... :)

Well, the very first test was the personality test before the actual marriage counselling, and the contrast of our results isn't a surprise... :) Unlike most couples, the girlfriends/ wife-to-be do most of the talking in the relationship, ours were vise versa! :) On the surface, I'm more of a reserved person (unless I'm with a group of familiar faces will i open up) while he's more open whether to strangers or friends alike... and the list goes on....

The topics we covered in marriage counselling are:-
Lesson 1: Christian Perspective of Marriage
Lesson 2: Reasons for Marriage
Lesson 3: Communication
Lesson 4: Roles, Responsibilities and Decision-Making
Lesson 5: Resolving Conflicts
Lesson 6: Sex in Marriage
Lesson 7: Parents and In-Law
Lesson 8: What We Can Afford
Lesson 9: Wedding Budget

We were told that the first four lessons are going to be tough as it might be a breaking point for some couples sometimes realized they weren't meant for each another at Lesson 4, but in case that happens, we were told to come back for lesson 5... :) hehhehe.... to patch things up, i guess... And *Phew, we pass thru that.. and well of course, as promised it did at some point, got us into a few interesting 'debates'.. but it's good to discuss it now then later.. :)

We've learnt so many things in marriage counselling. To prove the point, I even 'farm' the local wedding forum just to read the latest updates on weddings, they covered from vendor selections/ recommendations/ comments/ complaints right up to Matters of the Heart - now I'm all ears pertaining this topic, questions like "does your husband share the household chores", "who should pay the bill", "spouse of different faith".... I'm so very, very eager to give my opinions... though many times not well received :) Haha!

It's really interesting to see how the world perceive of marriage and how God sees in a marriage. And if we were to follow God's ways, things aren't that complicated.... We'd see things from His view. Well, to say is easier than done I guess... :) Time will prove my belief, God help us!.. But I'm a strong believer that relationships based on Christ Himself as the foundation are more solid, not to say that the relationship will be problem less rather we have God to turn to for godly counsel and answers in our difficulties.

We've finally decided to post our very first attempt in wedding photography, after a long long long thought!...

We went to Putrajaya for our first shoot, just me in my cheong sam, unca meow with his formal wear, a tripod and a Nikon D300 :)

And there are so many mosquitoes! Wished that i brought the electric badminton and zap them off!!!

We had a good time nonetheless, the running to and fro, pose, smile, take 2.. priceless :)

Honeymoon Destination

Yes, We've booked our honeymoon already and it will be... tah-dah! Singapore!... ok ok, most of you would be wondering why Singapore?... Well, let me see...

firstly, Singapore will be the best place to visit especially in Dec, when they're all up in the mood for Christmas...

Secondly, we're on tight budget! hahahah!! 3D 2N at Rendezvous Hotel is abt RM 1,700++, F&B, travelling expences would come up to another RM 2,000?... For transportation, we're planning to take a luxury double decker there :) i think it will be a great trip!!

Thirdly, we haven't really explore Singapore, so we've enlisted a few places we should go... such as the Sentosa Island/ Orchard Road/ Cable car ride/ Mont Faber etc etc... and the list go on... we're really looking forward to this trip. More to a tour if you ask me instead of the laid back relax honeymoon!

Maybe, just maybe on the following year, we would go overseas after getting a good fat bonus... Somewhere like New Zealand/ UK or something... We're hoping :) :)

The Colour Scheme

After soooo many changes!!! If it was my will, I'd go for black, white and shell pink but.... i can't! I'm forced to change the colour or else.....

And finally much to everyone's relief, we have come to a conclusion - our theme colours will be Plum + Copper with some black and white element of Victorian motifs.. My decision was pretty firm after seeing a large poster of a model spotting a copper blouse with a plum sash bow at Escada, KLCC few weeks back...

This card was my first inspiration..

I've even thought of the favors already, pretty cool idea but working on it.. if jadi - it will jadi la if not... better not to post it lest it won't be surprised by then :)

Our Anniversary

This month on the 11th is our 2nd anniversary.. So far so good :) And here are some of the pics we took during our first few outing at KLCC... :)

And coincidentally on this date both of us were caught up with 2 different events - myself at Sunway Bridal Fair and him @ PC Fair. However, we celebrate it at our fav. restaurant - Tony Roma's @ Sunway :) Was indeed a good evening :)

Doing what we love best - DATING!!! and coincidently on the 22nd... 8 more months and we'd be at the church or something :)

Anyways.... our breakfast was at Jln Pudu, comically unca meow being unca meow brought us round and round the same area to find the place which he claimed to "know" and been there (though later he admitted that the last time he been there was 2 years ago!).... and well, what can i say, i just follow la... and when we finally found the place, we were pretty satisfied that the food was indeed good (or maybe we were just so hungry??) and we didn't bother taking photos as we were busy swagging at the flies and wolfing down!

So, apparently unca Meow has set a task for me today, and not just being the "model", i am his photographer now!.. I realized after a brand new hair cut, and a slimmer figure, unca meow seems to like to be at the camera light - being the "model" in every photos!.. kheakakakak!...

after the breakfast, we snap some nice pictures...

so after breakfast, we parked at his office and walked all the way to KLCC, we stop here and there to snap some shots for his work purposes and etc...

After a long hour of walking, we settled into a cozy restaurant - Dome for lunch, but because we were still filled to the brim from breakfast, we decided to order something light and easy - pancakes! Yummy! top up with whip cream and ice cream... gosh what kindda diet is that, unca meow?.. and furthermore we had a RM30 voucher from our jeweller so the lunch was light on our pocket but full in the inside!.. hehhehe :)

and this ad has firmed our wedding colour - plum + copper :) I've even thought of the wedding favors already!

Wedding Splurge

As an engagement gift, I got unca meow a D300 Nikon Camera - he's been eyeing on this toy for a verrrrry verrrry loooong time and til now he's been smilling ear to ear!...

then for wedding gift, he got me a Tiff & Co. bracelet and yes, i've been smilling for no reason the whole entire day as well! i bought a charm to engrave our wedding date too... at a.. ridiculous price for silver!

And then as a return for his wedding gift, i got him a Suunto watch - don't ask me about the brand... apparently this watch has earned many awards last year...

With all these expensive gifts adding on more burden to our existing wedding bill... goodness, all we can do now is to Shurrup and stop spending! faint...

The Discussion

After all the jolly seasons are over (Christmas and CNY), finally both families get to meet up officially to discuss about the wedding! Our meet up was held at Crowne Princess Hotel, there were 15 of us! And silly me, i thought it was 14 ppl, i forgot the little adorable Nigel (who lessen the tension at the dinner! Thank God for children!)

Actually a week or two before this meet up we were abit worried and tense , melvin and I were constantly debating with each another about this meeting, when thrown at us all the traditions that we never know of comes to surface, it was a really challenging but somehow, we're very thankful to God that the meet-up went very well with the prayers of our cell group..

Thank you Aunty Jenny... err... soon to be my MIL (mother-in-law) for the wonderful dinner :) we had a great time :) :)

my bro and i... we've always been buddies... he was abit sentimental with me the other day during the reunion dinner, how i'd not be able to accompany him anymore for event such as that... awww... :( maybe we can come to terms?.. .don't you think, unca meow??.. hehhe :)

So what's the end of story?... well, looks like.. on my side, we'd be expecting the cake - chi mui peng or the ka lui peng abt 100 boxes! Gosh i din't know i had so many relatives?!! (Which later, i re-discussed with my family on the qty of the cakes, so the final decision is going to be 80 boxes including 18 boxes to be given back to Mel's family...) A whole pig (which unca meow happily obliged as he really loves pork) and a dowry for me???... faint... i leave it to Mel's family, as for me, i'm just gonna look pwetty on da day... hahahhahahahahahhah.... vanity vanity... faint.. sweat!

Reception Dinner

Finding a nice ballroom in a Chinese restaurant is a rare gem, what more with a specific location in Bangsar?.. And am truly glad that we managed to booked this one on a auspicious date - 22nd! Actually we're not too particular about the date, so happen that this was the only date left when we were enquiring! Without hesitation, we placed our booking.

BSGR is a regular client of my company - Grace Silverline Craft Co. and recently we did a makeover at their ballroom with ivory organza draping, but this is just the minor touch to it, my mom is the creative brainchild of deco, she'd come out something fantastic on our wedding! I'm sure and again we're truly blessed!

Just to let you know that the dinner will follow after the church ceremony. As the restaurant is only 2 mins drive away from the church, with consideration for all our guests to be able to make it for 2 events on the 22nd of Nov for the 2 loverbirds!..... heheheh.... me rhyming with 2's hehehhe!...

Anyways, here are some pictures that we've taken last weekend and a location map for your guide.

There are ample of car parks outside this restaurant at a min. charge or you can opt to park outdoor for free, and just to let you know that between 6-7pm there will be a freeflow of bird's poo.. and i'm so serious. but then again, take this as an opportunity to join us at our ceremony + photography session at the church :) We'd be delighted to see you there :)

Church Ceremony

Like every girl's dream, it's always been my dream to walk down the aisle in a nice little chapel, with all the wooden pews and stain glass... ahh... and i'm so very glad that i found this place thru a client. Thank God for a wedding related career! Makes planning weddings so simple! hehehe...

For some of you who don't know the whereabout of this church, it's near the Bangsar Village Shopping Complex, if you'd notice closely the reception venue that we have chosen is just a 2 mins drive away!.. Now that's convenient for you! :)

We planned that the ideal time to hold the ceremony would be at 4:30p.m. up to 5:30p.m. and then followed by photography sessions with all our family & friends.

Our officiant and registra will be Rev. Lawrence Yap from our beloved church - Charis Christian Center. :) That means, we don't need to go to the registration office to fill in the forms, wait for 3 months and etc... what joy! and hassle free! :)

This church is at the end of the road of Jln Changkat Riong, there are ample of car park but it's better to put the older folks at the entrance first as the car park is abt 1-2 mins walk away...

Our Love Nest

We are anticipating our love nest which will be ready by end of this year! Yay!

We felt that VIVA Residency is almost like the YTL Properties, with a history of building luxury condo such as 2 Hampshire they've built near KLCC, Beneton Properties price range for VIVA is not too bad, more ever overlooking the Sentul Park (which i love!), this condo comes in two types of layout to choose from - 840 sq ft and 1216 sq ft, no penthouse whatsoever. Priced at RM 186,XXX onwards, the 840 sq ft looks more feasible to our budget and after intense calculation, we felt that it's the right one. Almost 90% of the Sentul Park view units has sold off, left with just a few for us to choose from and we've set our heart on one special unit, and the price is not too bad, at RM 220,880 for a 840 sq ft... so... the decision was quite firm. But before we could toyed the idea over the weekend, two factors happened, we've got a RM 12,000 discount and also another potential buyer almost 'threaten' to book in if we didn't "chop" it, so in two days, we've bagged the condo. :)

VIVA is like a trendy, chic place, not overly priced, and not too low in price (bearing in mind what type of neighbours you'll be getting). When we're at the showroom we saw Jaclyn Victor (formerly Malaysian Idol winner) and her mom came in to view the showroom, our jaw dropped, or rather me and my sis!.. We were told by the sales ppl, that Jaqueline Tiara (leading actress of Puteri Gunung Ledang) bought 3 lots!.. Hmmn, can imagine what kind of neighbourhood we're expecting.

Rings and Blings

The engagement ring and our wedding bands are bought at the Selberan Jewellery Boutique at One Utama, New Wing. We surveyed a few shops before settling down for this boutique, one of the few main reasons we love about this shop was that we were very comfortable with their staffs - Juan and Pamela, they were soo very friendly, efficient and patient as they explained the many different types of diamonds and cuts. Truly recommended :)

A closer look at the beautiful engagement ring Melvin got for me :) :) :) so pretty and i Love it!.. Let me recall, i think it's a 0.38; Excellent cut; VS 2;18K white gold and a "G" class clarity diamond... hope i'm right!.. :)

As for our wedding bands, we chose a pair of classic yellow gold rings. Melvin was overjoyed when he heard about the gold price has increased in January as he has a placed a deposit booking in Dec for these pair of rings - a leap of RM 600 increase for both rings! What a saver!

In conjunction with the Chinese New Year season, Pamela has managed to retain 10pcs of Selberan's limited edition ang-pow for our keepsake! Soo pretty!!

The Proposal

It's almost two weeks now, but I'm still giddy with the most unexpected romantic proposal from my unca meow :) We've been dating for 1 year 8 months ++ and....ah!...

Way before this proposal, we've actually planned to take a day off on the 14th just for fun, and have in mind to visit Colmar French Tropical Village Resort at Bukit Tinggi. A cheap thrill for French fans like me :) hahhah :)

We reached there pretty early - 8:30am and was told that they open at 9am... so while waiting we snapped some photos.. :)

Well prepared with homemade chicken mushroom sandwich and sweet cherry tomatoes, we have our breakfast with his picnic mat, ah, so romantic, but it was getting hot and we practically wolfed down our breakfast...

We took pictures at every possible areas, it's just a one street village, the last time i've been here was about 6 years ago, the night scene is a better experience as they have walk-about magician, fire-breathers and other entertainers, so for now day time it's about the scenery and architecture...

Funny that they have a Japanese Tea Garden at the upper hill. After a short climb, we were already exhausted *Phew! and we called it a day at the Colmar....

We went to 1U for christmas shopping and settled down for an early dinner at The Chilli's, for the very first time in our dating experience, we actually ordered two different whole meal to ourselves complete with a starter... Yummyyyy!!...

We decided to watch a show - I Am Legend, what a sick show, most of the show we'd cramming up each another in fear and shutting our eyes and screaming. we had sore backache from this show, truly not recommended...

I was deeply traumatised by this show and got me figuring if during rapture, are there going to be all these man eating mutants...... and frankly all i want to do is to recollect myself! But before i can do that, i found myself weeping!

After he has dropped me at my house, all i can think of is the horrid show and also the loads of presents in my arms and can't wait to placed them in my room, but what's with my mom "obstructing" me??!! and him calling me on the other hand to open the gate because he wanted to go to the loo!?.. i have no idea! Too much emotions!

As he came up the stairs, i was mad with curious with my mom's weird behaviour! and as i were about to unlock my bedroom door, i can feel my room air cond's icy cold air struck my toes and i was wondering when was the last time i came in... and ta-dah!... behold my room has turned to a fairytale land! i was paralysed and weeping??!!! how unexpected and stupid! Goodness me, I'm ashamed, it's supposed to be the happiest day of my life and here i am weeping uncontrolably! What a wimp! i was so upset with myself! I'm going mad! Goodness too much emotions!! first thrilled then because of the show, I'm in fear then curious with my mom's weird behaviour and now unca meow's proposal! Too much to processed at one go!

And this much loved witty bear was laughing at me! And he went down on one knee to ask me, automatically i also went down and hugged him and weep! Goodness me! i don't know what came to me! As i was hugging him tightly and weeping(?!), he being himself shook my shoulders and repeatedly asked "Are you going to marry me?" x 10 times and that made me laughed! Goodness, Weep + Laugh = Insanity!

We had to re-do the show so that i can post this up, this time with my mom the decorator and now as the photographer!

We didn't even notice the extra effort that she has put - the heart shaped petal spread!

The Maid of Honor would be my best buddy - Belinda Samuel... Single and hot, this MAS air-stewardess is going to serve me on my Big Day! Muahahahahha!!!!

Followed by my all time happening, chic cousin - Wei Wei... :)

Not forgetting my beloved sister - Elizabeth...

As for their dresses, i've selected a few number which would just suit my theme perfectly, whether or not they'll wear it would be another whole new thing together... hehehehheheh :)

I'd like them to wear black and holding a bouquet of pink Anthuriums! Lovely!

As for the Ring Bearer would be Nigel Ng; unca Meow's all-time fan! and I'm Nigel's fan :) hahaha!

My flower girl would be Keelea Shaye (Thanks Leanne! for lending your daughter!!!)I've met her once and i really like her already, bubbly and chirpy, i think Nigel and her would make a good pair! :)

As for the best men; Meow will have to let me know; currently he has Kenneth, Nicholas and Shanon in mind....

Blessed with skinny gene - Kenneth (can whack almost anything and everything without worrying his weight!) pictured here posing with his beauty :) (I can't seem to get a single photo of him without Melissa :) hehehe...

Nicholas, the ever good looking, muscular, intellegent guy and according to Melvin and Kenneth, he is also every girl's dream guy... Whoaa!!

And Shanon, the Chinese Guai Lo from New Zealand; a dashing handsome 6ft hunk who always give a shy sheepich smile.... hehehhe :) hope he can make it for our wedding :)

Theme Colours & Wedding style

Taken out from the era of 60's... Think Jackie O, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn.... this will be my theme (I hope!)

I'd like something chic, fashionable, tasteful, classic yet modern.... hehhehehe... But my mom doesn't want to have any black element so I've to do up a colour chart consist of 60% shades of pink, 30% whites and 10% of black just to get approved! Goodness! This colour chart is partly inspired by the web site link given by Yoonie -my FSIL :)- This amazing web site www.stylemepretty.com has soo much ideas!!!....

My plan B would be dusty pink and chocolate brown - not too bad.... :)

And I'm also considering this all white and silverish theme.... but i've done so many weddings with this theme (so boring!)

Anyhow; i see a slight of change... mom's sorta giving in (coz for my bday she got me a black and white gothic twirly vine paper bag)... just hoping and hoping...
